EPSON

Digital & Print Design • Scalable Template Systems • Cross-Functional Collaboration • Product & Marketing Integration

OVERVIEW

At Epson, I contributed to the development of global instructional and product support materials used across multiple printer lines and international markets. My work focused on designing clear, production-ready visual systems that helped customers quickly set up and understand complex hardware and software interactions.

This included redesigning the Start Here onboarding guides, creating technical illustrations, and producing GUI-adjacent graphics used across user manuals, packaging inserts, and digital documentation. The project required translating highly technical information into simple, accessible visuals while ensuring consistency across languages, product models, and regions.

CHALLENGE

Epson products ship globally and require clear setup instructions that work across multiple languages, cultures, and technical skill levels. Many of the existing instructional materials were inconsistent across product lines and often difficult for users to follow.

The challenge was to simplify complex technical information while creating a standardized visual system that could scale across multiple printers, formats, and international markets. All while meeting strict production and localization requirements.

SOLUTION

I helped redesign the Start Here onboarding experience, developing a clearer visual hierarchy and simplified instructional graphics that improved usability for new customers. By standardizing layouts, iconography, and illustration styles, the guides became easier to follow and more consistent across product families.

In addition to onboarding materials, I created technical illustrations, annotated software screens, and user guide visuals that translated complex product functionality into clear step-by-step imagery. I also helped establish scalable templates, QA standards, and production workflows that ensured consistency across hundreds of assets and multiple global releases.

The improved system supported the creation of 300+ production-ready assets and contributed to an estimated $100K in annual cost savings through more efficient design and production processes.
