The system defines the company’s identity as a forward-thinking aerospace brand, combining typography, color, iconography, imagery, and environmental graphics into a cohesive source of truth.
My role focused on establishing the visual foundation and guiding principles, ensuring that every asset—from mission visuals to launch campaigns, websites, and physical environments—adheres to a consistent brand voice and aesthetic. The system is designed to be flexible enough to scale with new launches, campaigns, and technology while maintaining clarity, precision, and brand integrity.
Each element of the system supports the company’s mission: to make orbital access more reliable, sustainable, and accessible, while presenting a bold and visionary image to stakeholders and the public.
CHALLENGEOrion Aero, as a concept aerospace brand, needed a design system that could unify its identity across highly technical and highly visible touchpoints. Challenges included:
Communicating complex technology: Translating advanced aerospace concepts into accessible visual narratives.
Consistency across media: Ensuring cohesion between digital interfaces, marketing campaigns, launch collateral, and environmental graphics.
Scalability: Creating a system that could adapt as missions, products, and campaigns evolve.
Brand differentiation: Establishing a visual identity that felt modern, authoritative, and forward-looking in a competitive aerospace landscape.
The goal was to create a brand system that could serve as both a foundation and a launchpad for all creative efforts, while enabling teams to work efficiently and consistently.
SOLUTIONI designed and implemented the Orion Aero Design System as a modular, flexible framework, encompassing:
Logo & Identity: A primary logo and secondary marks optimized for digital, print, and environmental applications, with clear usage guidelines.
Typography & Color: A clean, geometric type system paired with a bold, future-forward color palette to communicate precision and innovation.
Mission Visuals: Custom iconography, diagrams, and imagery that explain technical concepts while reflecting the brand’s aspirational tone.
Launch Campaign Assets: Integrated social, email, digital, and print assets designed to announce orbital launches and key milestones with impact and cohesion.
Website & Digital Touchpoints: Concept layouts and landing pages showcasing mission highlights, company story, and technical information in a visually engaging way.
Environmental Graphics: Branding for offices, launch facilities, and hangars, including signage, wall murals, floor graphics, and employee apparel.
By establishing clear visual rules and modular components, the system allows Orion Aero to maintain consistency across all touchpoints while remaining adaptable for new campaigns and initiatives. The result is a unified, recognizable, and scalable brand identity that communicates both technical expertise and visionary ambition.
